In 2018, Marianela formalized her lifelong commitment to gender equality by launching HERA THE LIGHT OF WOMEN, a transformative initiative that evolved from a grassroots movement she began in the early 2000s. Today, HERA unites a global network of ambassadors, advisors, and changemakers across continents, working to advance women’s education, leadership, and the bold vision of HERA CITY a future-forward urban model led by women, for humanity.

Recognized internationally for her impact, Marianela serves as President of WICCI Portugal and was recently appointed as an Advisor to the President’s Council of the G100, a coalition of global women leaders. Her expertise and advocacy have earned her prestigious accolades, including a Doctor of Philosophy from India’s Rai University (2022) and accreditation as a Civil Diplomat by Jethro International.
