Dr Jose Manuel Pavao
Dr. Jose Manuel Pavao is a distinguished figure in medicine, public service, and humanitarian work. A licensed medical graduate from the University of Porto, he specialized in pediatric surgery, serving as Director of Hospital Maria Pia (1987-2003) and holding leadership roles in the Portuguese Society of Pediatric Surgery and the College of Pediatric Surgery. He has also contributed significantly to public life as a Deputy in the Portuguese Parliament (2002-2005) and President of the Municipal Assembly of Mirandela.
A dedicated advocate for social causes, Dr. Pavao has been Vice-President of the European Anti-Poverty Network and honored by UNICEF for his contributions. As Honorary Consul of Guinea-Bissau, he has organized humanitarian missions, supported healthcare initiatives, and founded the Luso-Galaico-Guineense Business Club to promote investment in Guinea-Bissau. He has also authored numerous books on medicine, culture, and history, reflecting his deep commitment to education and social progress. His extensive experience and leadership make him an invaluable member of our Board of Advisors.
